might be a bit of a trek though not far off motorway. Haven't you any big saddlers nearer to you?
To be fair, they usuallay have a good stock, would put them on a parr with Derby House, at least they were a few years ago.
Crewe saddlery is about 15 minutes from me. Depends what you are looking for to be able to say whether it's good or bad.
They stock loads of leatherwork and saddles. However, the clothing side and rug side isn't quite so well stocked. The staff can't do enough to help you though. Lovely girls, very friendly and they don't mind assisting you at all.
I always go to Alsager and Sandbach Saddlery these days which is about the same distance from me in the other direction (unless I need saddlery repairs as Crewe have someone on hand to repair). Alsager and Sandbach have far greater stock of the day to day purchases, boots, rugs, numnahs, feedbowls, headcollars, lead ropes, brushes, feed and supplements/grooming things. They also have a whole upstairs of clothing and a large boot section (boots for us that is).
Oo thanks guys for the advice! I was wanting to browse some Cliff Barnsby bridles, I need some new stirrup leathers and wanted to [sshhh dont tell BBs] look at some MW TO rugs. Also I wanted to look for some NEW Maximum Performance front boots. But I am now debating whether to get the boots from Old Dairy on line and then to make the order up have a spare Mark Todd MW stable rud as there is 20% off MT rugs at the mo!
