I have an elderly pony who has been a crib biter for about 14 years since being on a yard and seeing another horse doing it.
we have recently moved into a new house and we are lucky enough to have the horses at home, we have lovely post and rail fencing around the paddocks. Preparing for the fact that he would eat the post and rail I purchased "Stand off" electric fence insulators. This however hasn't stopped him and he reaches over the top! (A pro, you might say!)

Any advice on how I can stop him wrecking our lovely fence would be gratefully received.

Thanks, I will give it a go. Even with the fence on it doesn't stop him so I shall have a go with the insulators high up! If he wasn't such a dear little chap i'd throttle him! :p

have u tried to look into the cause rather than the prevention.
most horses crib to counteract pain. it may have just been a coincidence that he started at same yard as another horse.
try putting them on a ulcer calm supplement and see if it changes. also stear clear of cereal based feeds.
i find having 24/7 forage even if it hay and straw mix if they fat in small holed haynets keeps their gut working which prevents ulcers therefore takes away the reason.
they may now b in a habit but trying to see if there is a reason is beter than just preventing he action.

worth a go
