has anyone used one with sucess that they would recommend?

not a bad cribber , generally at feed time . occassionally in the field when he wants to come in ( usually cos he sees me in the yard ) occasionally in the stable if people/horses he doesn't know are about , generally not a stressy horse though

any suggestions welcome , he does of course have plenty of turnout & hay when stabled , i acquired him with this little quirk , but was hoping that a digestive type supplement might help??

thanks

Some people have had success with Coligone, I believe. It didn't work for me, nor any of the other products on the market and we minimised it by changing general management to reduce stress where ever possible

I have been recommended to try protexin acid ease so I will let you know if it makes any difference. I don't think it will as I believe it is a habit once formed that is never lost.

Feedmark's Settelex website here Their nutritionist at the time did a lot of research into crib-biting and stereotypical behaviour. They did bring out an interesting article about cribbing. Basically the research showed that feeding a horse a forage-based diet with ad lib hay when stabled, together with an antacid (such as Settelex) helped in a lot of cases. Definitely worth a free phone call to find out more.

saracen done a feeding plan for me and send loads of info about net-lox (I think it was called). It looks really good. my new horse is a chronic cribber, I've had to put a miracle collar on him (:() as he's destroying the yard

thanks everyone , i had been looking at settelex & the research behind it , just really wanted to see what people had used & found to help as there are so many supplements out there that i could spend months & lots £'s trying to find something that helps
