I've known a couple that have been sharp but in a good way. Extremely talented in the main - but then also depends on dam and handling and education.
 
My good friends mare is by CL. Winnie (her horse) went from PN to 3* in 3 years.
Unfortunately sustained an injury and was put in foal to Up with the Lark, she had her baby last sunday.
Winnie is quite quirky, which is a trait of the breed, but shes a big powerful mare who can gallop all day.

MdeM also rides a mare by CL

I disagree they arent flashy- most are absolute stunners and have a lot of sucess in the show ring.

They're mainly professional's horses, generally sharp and quirky but very talented
 
Fair enough, the ones I have seen (and tbh there havent been a huge amount!) are lovely little horses, but havent been huge moving "Wow" horses, but alot depends o the mare too I suppose!

Lol!! I have come across 3, one coloured, I samll dark bay that his owner described as a little "pump horse" but he was quite sharp, and one bay mare, who again wasn't large and very TB looking! And yes Frosty is by Criminal Law I think!

So it would seem from what you have seen he doenst throw very big offspring, no good for me then really, he is so stunning though.

I like the look of Lord David S too

MdeM mare isnt Big as in tall but theres a lot of her... the mare, not MdeM

I met LDS in the flesh, nice horse, but wasnt very friendly.

Well Orla is huge, i'm not exactly short (about 5'8) and i look pretty small on her!!!
She is very genuine, always gets a good dressage mark despite the jockey

She can be a total cow in the winter, never seen anything buck like it.. lucky she doesn't seem to do it so much in the summer!!

I agree with you Boss...look at Weston Justice! At Pavo he was shouting 'Look at me'!!
 
From what I have heard (but only hearsay, no personal experience) some of the Lord David S can be quite quirky.

I know my YM has had several horses with Gort Boy bloodlines (he used to stand at Louella I think) and all of them seem to be slightly quirky or sharp. Not always horses suitable for amateur. As others have said probably horses more suited to pro riders.
 
Friend has one, he is 16.3hh bay. He's not flashy in the slightest, bit of a galumph to be honest!! Think mum must have been a bit chunky as he is a sturdy lad.
Did well with last owner, but this person hasn't done much with him.
Lazy bu**er to ride, tries to slip behind your leg, and when he does he has a huge buck!!! when he is good he has a lovely jump but lacks lift in his paces to do a wow test.
 
My boy is by criminal law.....
But he is coloured that is due to the mother....but frost isnt a fine build like criminal law.....

But as he is out of him i do follow criminal law horses and i must say i havent seen a bad one yet! they are very striking horses.

Also i think each horse to his own... i know two horses by the same dad; they are both totally different!

He would be out of the mare, and 'by' Criminal Law...

Lord David S has passed away but I guess they may have some of his semen stored. My mare is by him and is quite quirky and also has very long legs which he tends to throw.
