I'd like to affiliate her eventually so we're working on our jumping. Apart from that we do loads of hacking and a fair bit of schoolwork. Thought I might stick her in a local WH this spring for the experience. Do you think she's the right type?
Im no showing expert so not really sure. They like them to be quite fat so she may need more bulk on her neck.... Then again I may be talking out of my a**e!
She looks a lovely allrounder and would easily affiliate showjumping I would imagine. Very nicely put together.
She's actually got a lot more neck now than when I first got her! Through work though not weight. It's a good point about them liking a bit of fat on, but I'm not compromising my horse's health for the sake of a rosette! As I can see from your avatar you prefer them more...err "athletic" shall we say. Got to be better for them hasn't it?
I just thought it would get her out and about a bit without too much pressure on us. I'm such a chicken. I need to just get on and do it!
I agree, I like them lean and fit. Although the horse in my avatar is much chunkier than yours! He is a gerderlander (sp) and is my husbands horse. I also have a TB though and prefer them to be narrow!
I would just go along to some local shows and have some fun. She is nicely put together and if well toned, will be fine.
Get out there!!!
