Good morning everyone :)

On the 25th July I took Charisma to a show and did the 2ft6 and 2ft9 showjumping - clear in both, but one pole down in each jump off. We have never gone clear before and not too many people did so I was happy! Just need to work the canter and inspire some motivation into her for the j/o ;)

Below are the pro pictures, I have asked for permission to post a link.

2ft6 - **Buy event photos, Fraddon Summer Show, Ring 2 classes 10 to 11, then we're page 2 # BE6903 onwards**

2ft9 - **Buy event photos, Fraddon Summer Show, Ring 2 classes 12 - 14, page 1 # BN7061 onwards**

Sorry I know it's a bit of a faff to get through the link!

The photos of us aren't that good to be honest because we did get in close or took a flyer to many of the jumps! One jump she is stood off so far she looks like she's standing up, lol...

I just wanted to know what you thought of us a pair - both our position etc :D

Well done, I think she looks lovely :D (and you do too ;))
Okay, I'm deff not the best person to be giving critique, but I think:
-she makes a lovely shape over the fence :)
-your position is good: you are going with her but not leaning too far forward like some do and unbalancing her.

I just hope I got the right photos now :D

My only help is, bum in the seat give more with your arms/hands.

I think the tendancy is to give more with your entire body, but a bum out of the seat is asking to be popped off over the head of the horse :) so keep bum in the seat and give with elbows through to hands.

Advice from a nooob*disclaimer* :D

Hi,

Lovely photos. Your horse is gorgeous!

Only thing I would say is to fold forwards while keeping your bum more in the saddle as this should make you more secure and balanced especially if you do get a very long stride.

Also give forwards with your hands over the fence so she can stretch over them and this also gives her the freedom to use her own head and neck to balance on landing.

She makes a good shape over the fence and looks like she's listening to you which is great!

Thanks for your replies everyone!

I agree that I need to stop standing up! Very bad. When I jump at home it doesn't feel like I do that, but when we jumped Sunday it was a bit haywaire and hit a lot of the jumps awkwardly!

She does love her jumping, and I just want to make sure that I'm making it as easy as possible!

I've got a lesson week Friday so I can bring it up with my instructor :D
