We were going to do the British Novice and the Discovery but decided just to do the clear round and the BN as we haven't showjumped since August and not indoors since March.
I usually showjump in a dutch gag but i've been jumping at home in a loose ring snaffle so i thought i'd try her in that today, and she was great, more forward than usual (which is good) but not strong at all.
In the clear round we had a very cheeky stop at the first part of a double which was on a related distance to the previous fence, we got a bad stride to it and shadow just said no thank you
but she went straight over it second time. She jumped everything else fine and left everything up!
There were 25 in the BN, walked the course and it seemed ok and i put my number down fifth. Went in and she rattled a couple but left them up, she's usually a bit of a four-faulter, so i was chuffed with a lovely clear!
There were only eight horses through to the jump off and i was fourth in the order. The first to go had a bloody fast clear in 32.0 and the next two didn't go clear. I decided to go for a nice clear as quick as poss but without taking any tricky lines, anyway we went clear in a time of 37.something and went into second place, which i was really pleased with but didn't think we would stay in second for long. By the end of the j/o there were only 4 clears altogether and i was still second!!
I won £18 which covered my entries!!
so that was our second BN placing and our first double clear!!!!
Sorry for the long, self indulgent post!
