My partner has a substantial amount of land.

We would like to provide a cross country course (100 acres wth a 40% undulation) and would like to know the best way to go about it.

xx

I always seem to be replying to yours!!

Someone I know in our area did this she/they built and made a load of jumps set them out and then sorted some insurance from nfu I think not 100%..and then advertised and went from there doing well now

Either get an expert to advise you (I'm guessing Comp Riders would find you one :)), or go and visit as many cross country courses as you can, noting what is good and bad about each one - types of jumps, lie of land, natural obstacles - see what would suit your place.

Also, what sort of events would you want to run? If affiliated, then talk to BE? You'll need to consider the current/future events calendars.

You'll also need to consider the planning permission, the logistics, the parking, the facilities, etc., all of which will take up space.

Thank you for your replies!

There are a few events local to the land (in the Lake District) that do s/j and dressage but currently there isn't a xc course.

There are plenty of yards around and I'd like to think that they would generate some business.

We also have PLENTY of wood to make jumps/features and a marsh field. I've rode a horse around it but only at a steady pace...

Coolio :p:D
