Anyone have any reccomendations for a company that makes hat silks that will stay on the HS1 ? I was thinking of trying to get a race safe one as can choose my XC colours .
Also any suggestions for XC colours ? I ride a piebald :D

I have a stretchy Lycra one that stays on mine . Gatehouse now do one in navy and black with extra wide elastic inside to help it stick

After loosing a few riding along the north east coast in gale force winds, I bought some velcro tabs that stick on my hat and give it extra grip. No issues since.

Blimey thats posh. Coloured lakkey bands to keep your silk on. SOPHISTICATED!!!! Glue a small piece of velcro to your hat and sew a small coresponding piece into the front of the silk. Now for mikes pet hate . People who wear their hat silk without showing at least an inch of hat at the front.

I have a shiny green lycra helment cover. I love it!

As you have a piebald, you can get away with most colours. :) Black and white compliment everything. If it was me, I would go for a super bright, bold colour... Emerald Green, Royal Blue, Fuschia Pink, Bright Yellow, Purple. I think it would look stunning with your horse.
Good luck with the silk hunt :)

Oooh thanks I have a Champion skull cap and am really fed up of lycra silks slipping off.
I use an elasticated hi viz hatband on top.of silk for hacking and schooling, but don't really fancy that look for xc! I'll be pinching the suggestions above.

sticky back velcro - the hook side, you only need a small strip at the front. :)

I started having the other velcro side on the inside of the silk to match as mike describes but find the hooks grip a lycra silk just fine hunting etc ;) :).
