There is a huge field where I keep my pony and we are wanting to build a few x country jumps to go around the edge.
Does anyone have any ideas of how we can build them?

Thanks in advance.

Get creative! :) i don't think there is a special way to buil xc jumps tbh. Just put your minds together and see what you can think of. if you see a big log just lying next to a road then get a big car or van to collect it and there you have your first jump. Go to scrap yard and get some old tyres, make a jump of out tyres. just plain natural poles, make a jump. xc jumps are fun to make cuz you can use so many things and they're simple. bales of straw, stack them on top of eachother and there you have a jump which you can change the height of. just get creative and have fun :)
good luck!

We use tyres and traffic cones at my yard, and if you can get hold of some big logs from somewhere you can either jump over the log as it is, or chop it up like a diced carrot to make round "wheels" of wood that can be arranged like this "OOOO". We also have big bundles of twigs, those big wooden "cotton reels" that are meant for storing cables, and two old wooden pallets leaning against each other like a little hut. It's great fun scrounging for XC jumps, you can get really creative!

Just wrote a really long reply and it got deleted

Thread some tyres onto a wooden pole, then rest the ends of a pole onto something so that the tyres are upright.

If you can get hold of 2 old tractor tyres cut inhalf and lay all the 4 pices next to each other so it makes a wide bridge type thing to jump

Make a normal fence out of wooden poles

If you have a hill then you could dig it out and make a drop (make sure you edge it off)

Big log :)

3 smaller logs in a pyramid shape but make sure you wire them together.

Don't forget to check with your farmer and make sure that all jumps aren't likely to collapse
