I'm looking for a good x-country schooling place that have fences that you jump into water, or a stride off it and skinnies and maybe skinny doubles. My horse has now decided she does not want to jump fences in to water or a stride off it, but she will however jump the biggest of drops into water.

I'm in Ely, Cambs. I don't want to go to Ely Eventing as my horse knows that place all too well, so want to go somewhere different to give her something to look at.

All so posted in new lounge as i didn't know where the best place was to post this

Blackwater Farm? It's in Norfolk, but we live about 20 mins from it and we also go to Ely... Also, The Grange in Herringswell but you have to use one the trainers there I think.

I was thinking about Blackwater farm as i know it's a BE course. I have looked on their web site and there's not many photos on there. Could you tell me if there is some good jumps into water or around the water.

There are 2 jumps into the water, a slope and 3 steps of varying sizes. Coming out there's a step to a jetty (BE100 and Novice), a slope to a smaller jetty (BE90), a very skinny upright log thingy or a massive boat (Intermediate). There's also a double step, a hanging log to a slope in, a step to big rails or a slope to a skinny log. To the two stream parts there's either a biggish skinny rolltop or a smaller one, then down a steep slope... The water complex is really good on the whole, and because he uses mostly permanent fences there's the whole range of fences available, from 70cm to Intermediate. He has another week of PC campers there coming up though, so it might not be available in that time.

I did go there a few years ago for a ODE and what i could remember it was a very good course. Sound like a good place for me to go and play. I will ring and check when the course is available. Thanks
