Hi, silly question but when jumping cross poles, for example if you're jumping a cross pole on the 5th notch of an 8 cup wing, what height does that height equate to as a straight jump? Would it be something like the 3rd notch up?
Just curious really,
Thanks!

That.... just measure it. Wing cup heights are not standard so there is no way of knowing what height the cups you are referring to are. And if the wings are closer together or further apart the mid point of the cross will be higher or lower.

The middle is not indicative of the height. The horse perceives the jump as higher as it need to get its body through the cross. To get an idea of the jumping height then measure around a meter from the center.
