What do we think then guys??

From the quick flick of them all I thought the English pointer looked a bit special... The Lab looked a right fat thing.

Thought the lab looked fat! Shame the weimeraner cant compete as it was lovely! I like the clumber and the cocker, and the springer! Not that i like spaniels or anything!
My mums irish water spaniel is far nicer than the american IWS that got put through (IMO anyway

)

I think one of the ones we saw today should have won so either the Welsh Springer or the German short-haired pointer. Loved both of these (well the ones that won the classes we saw).

Gahhhh!! American cocker??? gun dog???

OH's mum has got 2 and I'd put them in the lap dog section! They'd be no use at all!

GSP's never seem to do well.

Not sure what American cockers are bread to do - from my understanding they are bred to be pretty little pets!

LOL!! I was most peeved to see the ACS win the group!! I LOVED the GS and also was rather taken with the Irish Red & White. I also though that the Lab was a bit of a lump - nowt compared with that GORGEOUS black lab that was in the BIS a couple of years ago!! I have a soft spot for all pointers and thought the English Pointer was STUNNING, as was that gorgeous Weimeraner. I'd still take home the GS though!

Loved the GWP - stunning dog. Not sure about the fluffy thing that won though, but hey, I'm no judge (and I don't "do" dogs with skirts!!

). Such a shame the Weimeraner couldn't continue, that dog moved beautifully.

Loved the English Pointer and the Weimeraner. Bet the owner of the Weimeraner was devastated she couldn't go in the group . Agree about American Cockers, the Americans do have a knack of over exaggerating breeds, I'm not sure what they are like now but about 25 years ago some of their GSDs had the most horrendous hind angulation

I religiously watch Crufts every year but usually end up getting really annoyed either with the choice of dogs or at some of the caricatures of dog exhibitors you see. There are actually lots of very normal folks out there as well you know.

What about the Working Cockers, which are the only ones worth having?

the Clumber had hips that would have scored 60 or more on either side and had a roll like a drunken sailor when it ran - the commentator-bloke who said the famous 'clumber roll' was because of their long spine was talking complete b****cks.

and one of the others, can't remember which - think it was the red and white setter, but I may be wrong, was lame left hind in the trot-up

and the lab was clinically obese, as was every one of the golden retrievers they brought on the set

and as for the blatant abuse of that poor obedience champion collie....

sigh

it's nauseating really, but i kept watching for the agility, and got about 4.5 seconds....

Are you anti showing? There were a lot of nice dogs in that class.

I was really hoping that Freddie (the GWP) was going to get it this year as he was group 2 last year. I know his owner and watched him showing he really is a beautiful dog and he loves his showing. Before she's bent over, he's effectively in the right position and as soon as the lead's gathered he's off.

Jim enjoyed watching the agility:

I missed the gundog group gggrrr thing is I get really cross watching it as they are all show bred and probably hardly any working blood in them. The picture the KC have on their website to show the breed standard of a lab is terrible. If they want I'll send them a picture of what a lab should look like

Why did the weirnamer not get through?
