Just watched the judging for the pastoral group, don't love the winner . . . would have preferred the Sheltie . . . but what on earth was with the Border Collie? I'm a huge fan of the breed (have two collie crosses) but that dog was a) a parody of how a BC should look and move; and b) lame/unsound! Grrrrr.

The dog looked dull, uninterested, overweight and limping. Compare that to the lovely dogs in the agility and flyball . . . energetic, happy, engaged doglets . . . bright-eyed and bushy tailed.

So sad.

This is very weird because I thought about posting had anyone noticed the Border Collie was lame, he certainly didnt look happy and there was a few who didnt look happy. I know Im biased but the Lancashire Heeler wagged her tail when approached by the judge as did the Norwegian Buhound and both gave a lovely show.

I, too, thought the Border Collie was lame in front. Something was definitely not right. His head was down, and not looking for bait. His topline...?

For the first time ever I felt sad to see the BC go forward and win a group. That dog did not look like a happy Border Collie to me. These were private thoughts till I saw this posting :(

I agree , at first was delighted he had got Best of breed as he is grandad to my new pup , but he did'nt shine as he can and did look unsound , shame , i thought the pastoral group was very poor compared to the other groups , the Aussie would of been my pick .

Meanwhile in the working group I particularly liked the Sibe! I am not normally one for sled type dogs -- but that one really caught my eye. Anyone else?

the siberian husky was stunning, she should have won in my opinion....i am a lurcher & collie lover but loved the husky, however was very disturbed about the poor bc, it looked lame and almost ill to me, what a shame!!!!am looking forward to then hounds tonight

Glad someone posted this as i saw this earlier and thought that BC looked lame but thought it was just my eyes!

The border collie was lame in front, it is ,so I believe, an import from Oz,the show borders from there are loaded in coat and heavier boned than your average farm dog here. Personally I love them.:)

Yea I've seen the Aussie import collies whose coats ball up ridiculously in snow and (allegedly) have an unusually high incidence of glaucoma

Didn't see the collie as Crufts gets my blood pressure up. Always a shame to hear it's not improved since I last saw it...
