I have a very nice 2yr old colt whom only has one testicle down, the vet has had a good feel and reckons the other is def pretty high as she cannot feel it. I have been quoted around £800 for removal under GA - this is about 1hrs30mins drive from where we live so with petrol costs etc its going to be expensive.
I have been reading through the h&h archives and see a few had the op done under GA for less than £500.
So is there anyone who can recommend a place to have the op done at a cheaper rate?
Am based in Shropshire but willing to travel!
Thanks :)

My 2 year olds second one has only just dropped and it's still a bit shy and disappears occasionally. My vet wasn't too bothered about it because he's still young. Can you leave him a bit longer?

Glad to have seen this post as my youngster at 14 months has the only one drop down so far,she could feel the second but only just, said give him until next Feb and see what happens.:):)

My colt was the same when he had to be gelded, he was really colty and stallion like so had to be done quickly- my vets referred him to a top equine hospital and my own vets got it for £750.00 cash for us, apparently they normally charge £1k!- so shop around!
