CT scans - how fast are results?

Pony goes for his head CT tomorrow and I'm wondering if I'm looking at the same day/a few days/over a week for the results to come back? I guess it depends on if there is anything obvious to pick up or if it's more subtle but for those of you who have had CT done, how long till you got an answer? Thanks.
 
With people its almost immediate, well it was for me. Scan done, brief wait while the specialist looked at it, then I got the results. I would think it would be similar with horses. Depends who has to look at them and when they do it I suppose.

Thanks. I kind of want it to show something so that I have an answer but I don't want it to show anything scary! Something little and easily fixable would be great and then I can have my happy horse back.
 
When my pony had his head ct last year they gave me a brief description that they had found some damage to his skull that evening. The interns rang me and told me that hed been done and was back in his stable and there was something found. I collected him the next day ( saturday ) and asked for more info but they said that the specialist needed to discuss it with me aa they couldnt. It wasnt until the monday evening when I got a detailed call about his results ( it took them that long to try and find reports of his injury in other horses to try and give me a prognosis - there wasnt any reports anywhere because its always been fatal at time of injury ). I had a full emailed report and images the next day and had one posted to me and one was sent to another specialist in scotland at my request. In my case it didnt end well.

Pony was wonderfully behaved, I was very proud of him. The good news is that the scan showed nothing out of the ordinary, which means I can rule out all kinds of nasties, lesions, tumours etc which helps me a lot mentally. It does mean that I still don't know why he does some of what he does, and there may still be affected facial nerves. I am going to approach it fresh with a positive approach. I have put him on some top quality (read 'expensive'!) vitamin e which is often used for neural issues and he was deficient in last blood test. I already think he looks brighter in his eyes and he seems to be recovering from the death of his friend and is making friends with his new companion pony. Give the vitamin e some time and if no luck then go back to vet.
