Hi All!

If anybody could help with this I would REALLY appreciate it!!

I want to buy a cub type saddle for our 11.2hh very table shaped chunky lead rein type pony who will probably only be ridden very lightly all summer..

Can anybody give me an idea of how big/tall a child can comfortably sit in a 10" and/or 12" version of these saddles?? I think the 14" version will probably be too big for him.

Cracker is quite a strong, forward going chap so I would quite like to let a slightly older child ride him a few times after his winter (and most of last summer!) holiday!

If my memory serves me well I think we got a 12 for my granddaughter. She outgrew it quite quickly. shes only 5 and has been in normal size saddle now for quite a while. it really depends on size of your rider. My Gd is quite chunky. The pony was about 13 hand though. Dont think there will be much difference in size for your pony.

My sister got a 12 inch for my neice's 11.2 pony and I was able to fit my lardy a**** in it when pony needed sorting out (and according to Tesco jean sizes I'm the size of an average 11 to 12 year old!).

I was really hoping somebody would say something like that!!!!

Cracker is quite a lump of a pony.. in his previous home was hacked out by the older kids as he is well up to the weight, and strong off the leadrein. While I doubt this will happen with us, I need to make sure my novice 8 year old sons backside will fit in it, because we don't have a tiny tot jockey!

.. That and he has had a good few months off, and is pretty much impossible to lunge so might need some proper exercise with a more competent rider before he reverts to his normal angelic but perky self!!
