I am on the Surrey/ Sussex border and think my horse would love to go hunting as it will make life more exciting and get her going forward. However I have never hunted in my life and wondered what the best way to progress is and who to go out with? I need somewhere that I can safely park and load with a lorry that is side loading and pref not a huge field

Ring up the secretary and say you haven't been before, they sometimes have special days for new people (around here anyway). They will tell you the most suitable meets and about parking. It used to be that you didn't park within a mile, but now many hunts have parking at the meet so as not to leave lorries scattered around the country lanes annoying the locals.
Also tell people when you go out that it is all new to you. Lots of them will talk to you and tell you what is going on.

If you horse might be nervous of lots of strange horses put a green ribbon on its tail, but be responsible and try to position yourself so your horse won't be tempted to kick.

Do have your horse fit enough though, or you risk seriously injuring it.
