Not sure whether this should be in the hunting part of the forum or in here so I am posting it here.

My instructore has suggested I try taking my pony cubbing before I go hunting to get used to the atmosphere. What is involved in cubbing and does anyone know whether it is cheaper than hunting?

Also for all you East midlands people - do you know of any cubbing meets around Leicestershire/Rutland area?

Thanks x

No, fox cubs all grown up by this time of year. And, of course, we don't intentionally kill any foxes any more, unless they are dug out or shot...

In answer to PP, yes cubbing is cheaper and the day can be shorter, but as its nearly the opening meet you'd be lucky to get a day in and 4/5 hours is the day around here now.
Some horses do better going straight into hunting proper, less standing around. You can always go home early!
