I thought there might have been a post about this before, but since there hasn't been, this is it.

Well he had to win this or it would have been all over, but it was great to see him jump and gallop and really back to his best and the easy win will have done him loads of good all ready for Cheltenham.

How many horses is Colin Tizzard running in the Gold Cup?

Tizzard has 4 horses in the Gold Cup. Thistlecrack, Cue Card, Native River and Riverside Theatre.

As impressive as Cue Card's win was he didn't beat much. It was a handicap field in a Grade 1 race.

I think the fourth is Theatre Guide :)

I thought Cue Card was a joy to watch. He travelled beautifully, jumped like a stag and ran them ragged in a canter. Can't really ask more than that. He should have won easily and he did. He is such a lovely horse and I think has as good a chance as any in the Gold Cup. It takes some luck as well as talent - I hope lady luck is on his side this year!

Great to see, hopefully that'll do his confidence a lot of good after Boxing Day... as much as I love TC my heart will be with Cue Card come Cheltenham.

I was there - it was thrilling! I was deploying staff to the racecourse so headed down to the pre-parade ring to have a look (he was so relaxed) and then headed over to the rail right by the finish post to watch the race . . . what a horse! Have to say I think he's one to watch for Cheltenham - even in the parade ring post race he looked like he'd been out for a stroll instead of winning as emphatically as he did . . . he is pure class. I know that Cheltenham is a more punishing course than Ascot, but he's such a fighter.
