wanting to "tone down" the curb on a pelham.

Whats the best way about it - a curb chain cover or guard or an elastic or leather chain

My mare prefers an elastic curb, but suppose it depends on the horse. Curb guards are cheaper, so I guess try one 1st and if still need it toned down, go for an elastic one.

We use a leather one but any of the above options would do, just down to personal preference really, though I would have thought an elastic one might be deemed the 'mildest' option?

latex is fab, and works really well on my mare

She didnt take any notice of the elastic and was too heady in the leather
