Hi all,

I don’t know if this is a fitting question or whether it’s even appropriate. However, I will ask.
I am wondering what the current price bracket is for a more or less healthy 1.40-1.45 horse is at the moment?
I haven’t searched the market, but last time I recall prices were flying

The prices will still be flying for horses of this calibre. It’s the middle and lower end of the market that’s seen a steep drop.

Horses jumping 1.40 + will almost exclusively be sought by professionals where purchase price is not the same issue as it is for your average amateur.

Yeah of course, I’m in the start of my young rider year and I was wondering what a young rider horse would cost. I have my own at the moment who jumps up to 120-130 level, still under progress + quite green for his age.

I suppose it depends if you want something that can jump round a 1.40 but needs more piloting, or something that will take you around a 1.40 with less input from the rider.

For the latter, I’d not expect to find something with clean vet history and under the age of 15 for < mid five figures.
