Cushing dog- end stage?

Hi, anyone have experience of a dog that had Cushing? Mine is off to vet today for tests, but I know in my heart she has it and has had it for years.

The last 5 nights have been very bad with her up and anxious all night, panting, shaking and generally upset. I know it’s the symptoms of it.

I don’t want to put her on risky meds at her age (14 nearly) but I don’t want her to carry on as she is. If anyone has experience please let me know how you have coped with this horrible illness. Will also post what vet says later, but I have heard treatment is risky and can make them worse- anyone have experience of this?
 
My mums Shitzu had it and treatment gave him a new lease of life. I’d wait and see what the vets say first.

Mums dog had it for years too. They thought he was just getting old but he lost his fur and it was only then he was diagnosed. If you do decide to treat, ask your vet for a prescription and buy meds online, they are much cheaper. I remember he had milk thistle tablets alongside the meds for cushings and needed a blood test every few months. He lasted a couple of years after diagnosis.
