Some of you will remember my many posts about my pony who I think might have cushings. I will include some pictures but recently after losing his winter coat very late he is looking alot better. However I have been taking a girl out riding on him and on Sunday we were out for about an hour and a half and he peed twice (v.unusual for him) and same again today

What should I do? Other symtoms include pot belly??, v.bad dandruff, and curly late shedding winter coat...

I recall your last post and replied to it about symtoms of Cushings

If he is on grass then it may be the reason he is peeing more. Also the only reason (I believe) they pee more, if they are Cushinoid, is due to them drinking more, so if your horse in not drinking more then it may not be a cause of concern.

You are doing right by generally keeping an eye on him and querying any changes.

The worst thing that can happend to a Cushings horse initally is to go down with Laminitis

my lad has cushings also, we have never got blood tests done but my vet saw him and said yes definatly cushinoid we first got him clipped (different horse altogether after) then put him on strict grazing fr a month to get his pot belly off with daily excersise either short hacks or lunge work his diet is happy hoof only he came to me on sugarbeet mollichop and pasture mix far too much for him hes now turned out 24/7 on one scoop of HH a day and rode 5 times a week iv p'med u pics x

If the vet diagnoses cushings via a blood test then there should be drugs he can be given..... .Pergolide is the one that springs to mind..... and if it is this you need, then ask about buying it from the chemist as its much cheaper than from the vet!!!
