I have just found out I can get 1000mcg (1mg) pergolide for £39 per 100. Vet can't get them any cheaper than £139.00 for same strength/quantity (not their fault). How cheap is that?
Yep. Vet wrote free prescription and I went and collected them this afternoon. 100 will last 200 days at her dose so am treating her for less than 20p per day instead of 70p.
ours cost 37.99 for 100, but same strength as before. When first started using them it was £75 for eighty and horse was on about 2 1/2 a day. Our 27 year pony, who has cushings looks really well from them
hope it works for yours.
It's a pity we dedicated oldie owners aren't given a bit of assistance in the medication costs when they are for long term support of an elderly animal. Not telling owners that cheaper alternative sources are readily available is a bit off IMHO. Most of us spend plenty down the vets anyway and good payers should be especially rewarded!
Please could you help.My pony has just been diagnosed with having Cushings Disease. My vet has told me the pills Peroglide cost £140..per 100,she sais,(i might be able to buy them online<but having difficultly with this.Do you know where i can purchase these tablets cheaper.

just get your vet to write a prescription and take it to the local chemist or try somewhere like www.hyperdrug.com

Hi! Sorry to hear about your pony. I just rang my local pharmacies and only called two, both of which came up with £36 - £39 per 100 1mg (the highest strength available) and one of them got them by that afternoon. It really isn't difficult. Luckily, your vet has pointed you in the cheaper direction. My pony is 12 hands and it is less than 20p per day to dose her.
