Cushings and prascend

My mare was tested for cushings last summer, was over 350 so started on 1 prascend a day, symptoms improved quickly and after 4 weeks she was retested and levels down to 21. Vet said half tablet was probably OK but to hold off changing till the grass died off. Couple of weeks after that she got the "cushings veil" so I dropped her to half a tablet sooner than planned ( she's on a pretty bare track supplemented with hay / haylage anyway). Perked back up on half a tablet and has seemed great since, little bit porky given theres hardly any grass to see but nothing too bad. She had her annual jabs last week and was tested again and is at 46 now, vet thinks she should go back to full tablet for rest of spring / summer. I'm not sure given how happy she seems, should I try it and see, do half 1 day then full the next so there's a bit of an increase but not doubled or leave her as is and monitor?
 
As far as I am aware the risk of laminitis is more when the levels are higher so I would put her on one. As your vet has said and if she reacts badly maybe go down to 3/4
 
We’re not far from the autumn rise season for PPID in which ACTH levels rise much more in Cushing’s horses than in unaffected horses. I’d heed your vet and up the levels, but maybe to three quarters of a tablet per day for a few weeks then up to one tablet/day if she has had the veil in the past.

Pergoquin tablets split into quarters much more easily than Prascend.

They are a fair bit cheaper too!
