Cushings :(

Sooo fed up....my poor little girl, shes 21 and got blood back today and she has cushings, Im so fed up, I dont have any experience with this, my vet said theyre going to get her on the medication soon as. Any advice please. Thanks x

Get yourself into veterinary, put Cushing's in the Search option on here and have a look at Yahoo groups 'themetabolichorse'. Give yourself time to get your head around the syndrome but my advice is get her on the meds asap and then get to grips with the rest of it.

There IS life after Cushing's, but it takes determination and a bit of luck.

Some horses respond very well to treatment. Unfortunately we lost a well loved pony a few years ago who just went downhill very rapidly.

Mine got diagnosed with cushings about 2 months ago. He's been on pergolide for a while now. He seems brighter within himself so far although must admit, I havent noticed a huge difference but then maybe it needs time to work...
