Nothing fancy - all I need is a 5 3/4" magic bit (sometimes called a Cambridge Snaffle), straight mouthpiece with a port and loose rings at the sides. Problem is no-one makes them that big, they're mostly available comercially as 5 1/2", or else the loose rings are too small. So far on Google I've only found bit-makers in the Us and Canada - they have the advantage of working in sweet-iron, but it would be better to buy British for all sorts of reasons (communication, price, tax etc). Can anyone help? annblack42@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Kerilli, thanks so much for replying! Yes, I too found the 6" version, but it's too big, I really do need a 5 3/4. Who are NS that you refer to?
Thanks again.

Abbey Saddlery/Ridingbitz make all their own bits and are happy to make to your own specs 9within reason of course) Unfortunately they do not sell to the public, but if you can find a saddlery that stocks thier goods, they can place an order for you. If you are a bit stuck, my local saddler can order one for you from them. Contact me by PM if you want.

I have a Abbey account, they don't sell 5.75" but I do have a friend and colleague who uses the same makers of the bits as Abbey does and I could ask for info on getting one made up specially BUT it will be very expensive. They are made by a reputable English bit maker (loriner) who makes them for alot of people in the trade.
PM me if you wish to know the prices of the 5.5" and the 6" regarding the Port Mouth Loose Ring - (Magic Bit)
