Cut lips?

A little while ago i noticed maddie had a cut on her lip...almost looked as if her lips were chaped and had boken and bled...it soon disappeared but i noticed yeatserday it has come back and there are a few other sores too.
I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and how it could be treated as i was worried about putting creams on...

Probably a useless and obvious reply but do you use a flash noseband? Just that I tried one on my boy and a couple of days later noticed his lip looked chapped where it had rubbed him. It wasnt overtight just he has a mouth habit that means hes constantly drawing his tongue back and the constant movement caused the rub.

Can she get at any hedges in her field? Now everything is growing a lot of the horses on my yard are browsing the hedges & getting some cuts & scratches in the process, not that it puts them off!

My first thought was the flash..but it is much further down her lips...
there are a lot of bushes...and she is such a hungry horse has probably been trying to eat them...
would it be okay to put normal cream[like savalon/sudacream] on them?...dont think they're that toxic?
