Cut on leg

I know i am probably going to get told off that this is not in the veterinary section but there are more of you in here!

*waits for the veg to be thrown*
Anyway, my boy got kicked the other day, not badly but it created a small knick (sp) on his leg. Now this was Sunday Am. He has not been lame at all since and i have been cleaning night and morning, but the leg is swollen. I have cold hosed it twice a day also but it is not going down even with gentle exercise. Would you get the vet or let it go down in time? I dont want to pump antibiotics into him if it can be avoided and it doesnt seem serious just a bit puffy with the fluid.

it will be as your horse is in 24/7 he needs to walk around to get the swelling to go down, don't pannic it's just because he is in. If you get a chance this evening to turn him out in your school for an hour you should start to see it go down.
