Cut Tongue....... what to do??

Alfie got into a scrap with another dog and has ended up with a few cuts on top of and a lot of red (bruising) underneath his tongue.

Apart from being sad he seems ok although he slobbers a lot and has foul smelling breath.

The cut has clotted and looks better than it did, he is eating tinned food but not biscuit but does not seem to be drinking a lot.

Can I do any thing to help or is it a trip to the vets tomorrow???

I don't think there's anything you or the vets can do with tongues, like ears ad pads they just bleed lots. He should be ok. Is he drinking at all?

not much at all....... i wander if curling the tongue hurts him

It'll be sore for a little bit. He is eating his meat though so will get some water from that.

I would probably ring the vet and see what they suggest with regards to him not drinking a lot but I wouldn't go into instant panic

thanks for advice......... took him to vets for antibiotics as his breath was rancid....... seems much better now
