so, i thought some would appreciate how precious my old lady looks in her new rug, providing i can figure out how to attach a photo?

my mum got it on sale for £25, and it perfectly matches the headcollar i bought her in 2018 at HOYS?

my mum and i have always loved thelwells and my nana still has some of the comics knocking about too:,)

ETA: on the rug, penelope is holding a sign that says “i’m the greatest”, which was what sold it for my mum lol

I had the sheep rug, loved it. Son's pony trashed in within 2 weeks-I was so upset.

I bought one for Flicka too, she never wore it. I have it in my collection still?.

What's her breeding? Looking good for 28.

i also had a flicka! my first pony, a thelwell lookalike through and through, we actually did that for a fancy dress once. sadly lost her to colic last year:(

she’s a new forest! dam is firtree fancy, sire is foxhills footman. i’m not at all familiar with newfie breeding, so i have no idea if any of her breeding is notable! she’s registered though and it’s all online - the first time i ever looked up another pony to see their breeding i was actually surprised at how difficult it is for some of them on the different databases, if i google her full name it’s the first that comes up!

she’s actually a bit of a tubster under the rug, she’s got cushings and before she came to us on loan she was with a 16 year old girl who kept running away from home and left her to gorge in the field, we’ve been able to manage her weight and it was much easier when she was ridden, but the vet said her neck is so cresty it’ll never go away:( her neck actually looks a bit out of place, because the rest of her is a normal weight lol

ETA: from the online database, i’ve just found a photo of her gradsire (dads side), he’s lovely, but again i’m not really familiar with other new forests so he could be an awful example of the breed, but i like him?

Footman was by a notable NF stallion, Beechwood Comet. What's her registered name?

the photo posted is beechwood comet!
foxhills candice - was going to say i’ll pm you if that’s okay so nobody can figure out exactly who i am, but i think anyone who knows her would recognise her from the photo i posted rather than her registered name??‍♀️ blonde moment, but everyone can laugh at me for it at least?

Her great, great grandsire on dam's side was the sire of my old boy who I lost 15months ago aged 28

In the stud book she was under ownership of someone living in Lancs
