Today we took Renkum Corlandia (Cordy) who is a show jumping mare owned my HG for her first ever dressage tests! I decided when she arrived at my yard that it was going to be my mission in life for the next few years to transform her into a dressage horse, as HG informed me when she arrived that Cordy hates schooling! RED RAG TO A BULL!
She was a star, and is finally getting over her mouth issues (she had very bad teeth when she arrived with me and found it very difficult to accept a contact) She did two good tests, she fussed a bit in the first test, and scored in the low 60's, and in the second test there where white boards at one end of the arena! Unfortunately as we went up the long side my steering disappeared and she decided to hop over what was CLEARLY a placing pole!
She again scored in the low 60's. She got some very positive comments and her marks ranged from 5 to 8. Hopefully with some more experience she will do quite well!
We also took CVS Hot Business (Teddy) HG's 4 year old stallion to do some novices, just for an outing. He was a star as usual, and got 68. something in the first test, and 2nd place (he would have won if I didn't go wrong in my test ooops!) He got 70.something% in his second test and came third. There where some lovely horses there today so we where a bit pleased. He was a bit flat as his saddle doesn't fit great at the moment, which we are looking into now, but he is proving to be a nice consistent little horse!!
Taster pics below and the rest are in the gallery!
