Can someone please tell me to get a grip!
The yard my TB is on has recently decreased in numbers leaving the barn he is stabled in (able to house 6) with 3 in. The other 2 are at the other end & one of those is now living out. With only 1 other in my lad is stressing majorly being in without seeing the other one properly.
The problem is he cribs. The stables are old cow pens meaning they are fabulously big but made of stock gates. In the 6 years I have had horse has destroyed his front gate (please no comments on stopping the cribbing using collars as I choose not to do this). YO is fab & I have always said whatever he destroys I replace if I leave & or it needs doing.
Anyway, only solution I felt was to move horse to stable opposite only other horse staying in. Problem is YO (rightly so) doesn't want him anywhere near it until all gates are protected. Hopefully I can get some drain pipe sorted soon which he cannot grip but until then my only option is to kick him out.
He stopped out last night with a heavyweight on for the first time since last summer, but normally I wouldnt turn out overnight til Juneish probably.
Just looked at weather & its going to be O degrees tonight!
Am now fretting he will be freezing & miserable!
Can someone please tell me I am being ridiculous & that he is a horse & will be absolutley fine!
Cookies for reading my waffle!
