Hi All, Vet has just diagnosed my mare with a cyst in her left eye. He is unable to give me much information or idea as to how much this affects her vision but suggests that she may have trouble judging distances with poles in the school, SJ etc. She does have a tendency to stand off every fence and has on occasion literally tripped over poles on the ground and small fences. I put this down to the fact that she hadn't been worked for over a year prior to coming to me and spent a long time getting her fit, building up strength over her back etc before asking her to jump. My dilemma now is whether to persevere with the poles and jumping on the basis that I don't know how much the eye affects her if at all or whether to be safe and just keep to flatwork and the odd pole on the ground !.
