Does anyone have any experience of cystitis in geldings ? Does it usually recur and is it often indicative of a more serious underlying problem. Advice appreciated.
It does recur with him, although very infrequently. I havent found an underlying problem though, vet thought he might be diabetic but not, so we assume its just one of those things
I know this sounds crazy but what chaff do you feed?
My arab cannot eat Mollychop /mollychaff etc as it makes his pee really strong (when it dries overnight on the mats/ floor it was going almost crystalised) and when we watched him trying to go, he really struggled. This bit doesn't make sence but his bed was really wet too.
We took him off the chaff and put him on Hi-Fi and he is right as rain again!
i was looking through my herb books last night and i found by feeding cough grass it is very good for cystis clearing out the bladder and kidneys if there is any form of infection going on in the water works area!
