ive been asking quite a few feed questions lately, but anyway has anyone tried it? He doesnt have any problem eating hard feed so thats not a prob but could do with the added glucosamine and stuff. did you find they liked it?thankyoux

I have had one horse on my yard on it for a bit and although it was very palatable it did seem to make her pee an awful lot! She went through twice the number of shavings in a month that she normaly had!
I find that i like the Allen and Page calm and condition when they are really old and have few teeth, like my retired dressage horse!, i soak it with sugar beet and add the extra joint suppliments .

I've just got a horse on loan that has come to me in very poor condition, the previous loaners (an equestrian college) sent him back as he was not eating. Try telling him that. I mix 16 plus cubes with leisure mix (only cause I had some of this left off other horse) and it is virtually gone before the bucket even hits the floor and he's really putting on weight. I haven't noticed any issues with his peeing, but he is out at grass and only comes in every few days. He isn't fizzy on it(never has been). So far I'm very impressed.

ive got my old girl on the 16+ cubes. SHe doesn thave any problems eating it but if she did I can just soak them a bit for her. Shes done really well on it and wolfs it down. Cant say ive had any problems re peeing etc.

My previous horse who I sold recently loved it - he always had the sixteen plus cubes, then I couldn't get them and had to get the mix. Unfortunately it sent him a bit nuts! He had far too much energy, couldn't stand still for two minutes and was always charging round his stable. My friend had to take him out for a good gallop to tire him out (I'm too scared to do such things). I had to take him off the mix and back on to cubes in the end.

Yes its really good- my horses are all on spillers feeds however my 26 yr old is on the d & h 16+ mix as she looks better on it- the mix looks and smells nice as well. Makes her v lively and everyone says that she doesn't look her age!...

Yes. I have fed it to my old boy for years, he is 30 this year and is as fit as a fiddle! Feed it along side veteran chaff & TopSpec balancer with great results

No. I have a 32 yr old cushings pony that was on it before cushings was diagnosed,he is not laminitic but I was told this feed is not suitable.
Recommended Allen and Page Fast Fibre as low in sugar so safe for laminitics.

My Old Mare was on it until she got cushings/laminitis (its too high in sugar for her now). She liked it a lot and she is a choosy old bat so it must be tasty. She was on the mix and it didn't cause and peeing or livelyness issues.

i'm sure it was the D&H mix that brought my mare up in lumps, she couldn't handle the high protein, she was better on a standard mix with added supplement. sensitive old soul she was:rolleyes:
