D rings on thorowgood??

I have a T4 cob Thorowgood, do you think a saddler could put some D rings on the back for a saddle bag?

I don't see why not! I have the pony club version of the t4 with a D ring on the back

You could get a saddle cloth with pocket if not.

I posted this question a while back and someone helpful (I think it was cremedementhe informed me that they would have to drop the panel to do it so it could work out quite expensive.

I got someone to make me a strap that clipped on the girth rings (like the one for the balance strap where you can change the placement of them), and went round the back so I could fasten my saddle bag on to it.

You had to have it fairly tight to prevent the bag pulluing it down but we made it so it had sliders so it could be adjusted, and it had rings placed where they would normally be on an older saddle, plus where the crupper d would be. Cost me a tenner so not bad...

Yes, it'd be a 5 min job as the T4 has an adjustable gullet so the panels pretty much drop out anyways. In fact you could pretty much do it yourself!
