I've done a bit of research into lorries and no one seems to have a bad word to say about the above mentioned - can anyone give me some info on the different models S or T reg era - they seem to be 130 or 150 - any info/advice gratefully recieved.

Thanks

130 and 150 is the horsepower of the engine , they are ok but getting dated now not as nice to drive as the later LF dafs or the other favorite Iveco eurocargo.. parts are easy to get second hand at the moment, new are expensive and remember the newest will soon be ten years old so parts will get harder to find after a few more years... Oh and back brakes can be a nightmare to get working right for the MOT usealy needing drums, shoes and cables

hope this helps..

We have had two Dafs and been pleased with them. The current one does not have a tilt cab, but out lorry mechanic does a lot without tilts and no problem for him.
However, if buying now I would try and go one year or two younger and get LEZ compliant vehicle, thinking of eventual resale value, even if you are nowhere near London
The 150 has more power, our 130 is ok but would appreciate a bit more power on steep hills when fully laden.
Nice to drive, no horrible suprises or delays for any parts.
They are not too heavy a chassis, so given a sensible build, even a full fitted coach built one should have a good payload.

the are mostly HP recovered vehiles and there can be some really good buys.

I've had both Iveco Cargo and DAF. Currently running a DAF. If you are getting an older lorry I would go for the DAF because spares are much easier to get hold of than the Iveco ones. Also the Iveco tends to be heavy on the front axle which means they can bog down easier on soft ground. Have found DAF better up hills than equivalent engine power Iveco but Iveco tends to be better cruising speed - all to do with gearing. DAF is more car like to drive - There again you might buy a Merc!
