so 2 days ago i left a wee sandwich bag with cut up apples in it sitting outside my boys stable, i turned my back for 2 minutes and he'd devoured it all, bag included!

i phoned the vet immediently after and she said not to worry, and that it will just pass through. but he hasnt passed many droppings since he did it, and i tried phoning the vet again but theyve been "unavailable" which is very helpful

so should i be worried? or should i wait a bit longer to see if he passes it out?

I think you should wait a little longer, have a look and see on average how long does it take a horse to digest food normally then add a bit on to it as they don't normally digest plastic! If it still doesn't arrive I would then phone the vets again!

Also don't worry about it, one of mine has eaten a steak bake from gregs bag and all!!!

I wouldnt panic to much, my daughters pony chewed through my handbag and ate a boost chocolate bar wrapper and all when i first got him 2 years ago, never saw the wrapper out the other end but hes been fine!! Naughty pony:D

Lol - I wouldn't worry too much!! My mare devoured an entire plastic bag with carrots in (about 1kg!) in one go. I never found the bag in her poo - and that was about a year ago now!

theyre so daft sometimes. with fox its never something minute, he needs to cause a big drama so thats why i worried! but he's passed it out, and seems to be fine :)

OOOOH tell me about it!!! My girl is a complete diva and if she has a tiny cut on her leg and you open a tub of cream she goes hysterical and nearly decks herself in the stable! She has to be sedated if the vet comes to do anything with her legs! :(
