Daft bit question

The rugby pelham has an action more similar to a double bridle and you have to use a bradoon headpiece for the loose ring part of it. The rugby pelham also has more play in it than the jointed one so I suppose the rugby pelham would be more like a loose ring snaffle and the jointed more like an eggbutt as it would give a more fixed feel for the horse. I've tried both in my horse and he prefers the jointed to the rugby which is interesting as he prefers an eggbutt snaffle to a loose ring and he goes better in fixed bits which have less play and movement in his mouth. Not sure if that's any help??!!!!
