I've been asked to clip 2 geldings. Fine, I've clipped many horses before. BUT, I then thought of something odd, I can't remember ever clipping a gelding before (all mares as far as my brain cells allow me to remember!) and I just want to know what people do regarding clipping or clipping around their sheaths?
This has puzzled me, so before I make an error I thought I should ask (to my embaressment somewhat!) people who know!
Both horses are having blanket clips. Thanks.

yup take it off :) if they allow some dont like it follow the line you do on the leg and follow around between the legs and then everything off :)

depends on how close each one will let you go.Micah doesn't care so I go as close as I can without catching him (I have to put my hand in front so he doesn't suddenly let it drop lol) then just trim any long hairs from the actual sheath itself

Hmm I try to clip my boy's sheath but I dont spend much time doing it as properly as the rest. The belly area around it sweats more.

My old boy like it a bit too much!!!
New boy will not tolerate the clippers anywhere near it, so he has a willy warmer unfortunately - wasn't worth getting my head kicked!

I whip it all off with my gelding but he is very good to clip. Not sure what I'd do if I had one that didn't like it as I do like to make my clip as neat as possible.
