Anyone ever had a claim paid out and, roughly, how long does it take to do battle with them?

I had a vets claim paid by them and despite the stories I had heard from various quarters I got my money relatively easily

I also had a large vets claim paid out and had only owned and insured the horse for 3 days before the injury. Took a while to process but paid out in full.

Did you have the correct type of locks on your tack room? and is there more than (not sure if 5 horses or 7) on the same premises, they are loops holes, I'd go through the small print with a fine tooth comb.

I had a claim for Vets Fees , this took around 2months to be paid and a loss of use claim that although it did take around 8 months !!! it was eventually settled .

I wouldnt use them again, I know insurance companies in general dont want to have to pay out but e and l were ridiculous, they tried to have a clause to get out of every single element of everything .

For your friends tack theft , hopefully she wuill have the correct standard of lock , key , security measures etc etc

Good luck for her , hopefully it will be straight forward enough . xxx

ha903070 Glad to hear you got claim settled , How did it go so smoothly , if you had only owned horse for 3 days ???

I had only owned my horse for a relatively short time too , and they were trying to say the horse was injured when i purchased it , then that it was too soon within insurance cover to be valid etc etc etc .

I had to chase them a couple of times, they paid the vets straight away I only had to chase them for the money for the hydrotherapy which was classed as alternative treatment she had that after the surgery.
It was a kick injury in the field. They didnt quibble about the injury at all though we did ring them from the vets for permission to go ahead with the surgery as advised by the vet.

yep, to tthe limit of the insurance, no problems atall.. it was me claiming and the policy wasnt even in my name.. all really complicated but couldnt of been happier.

It took them about 6 months to pay mine. The vets were getting really cross about it to be honest, so I changed policies afterwards. I'm not one to believe horror stories though and I went with them despite what I'd heard. Lots of people I know are very happy wit them.

My friend uses them and really rates them -she has 10 very accident prone horses and has never had a problem with them paying, out, she has also claimed for tack theft no probs. I have heard bad things on here about them though and hence have changed insurers for mine!
