Ive seen a potential saddle that may fit bobby. and as the saddle fitters around here are useless when i call them out, i thought id ask a silly question,

i ve seen a saddle co saddle and its pretty wide 11 inches between D's, im wondering if i measured bob with the flexi, drew out the flexi, then measured it across the bottom (the widest bit), would that give me d ring measurement?

No - it wouldnt.

You need to know the exact point on the flexi-curve which correlates with the D ring measurement - the flexcurve measure the inside of the saddle, or the trim if you are looking at the pommel.

SC saddles can be adjusted up to 3 size up and down so I always tell people to get something in a wide - this pretty much covers all possibilities unless you have a larger horse or the saddle has been adjusted previously.

I went out to fit an ebay saddle once and it was advertised as a wide and the new owner needed it to be an xw. Unfortunately the saddle was originally a medium and therefore couldnt be adjusted any further. Make sure you find out what the original tree size was.
