Hi not sure if this is in the right place but here goes :D i am currently doing a btec 3 in horse care and 1 of my tasks is too research what would be a daily routine of a dealers yard. Having never been too a dealers yard i have no idea about the ins and outs of their daily routine so i was wondering if someone out the works or has worked on a dealers yard they could give me an idea of you daily routine many thanx :D

I did a season at a dealers yard in Ireland... and our routine was -

6:00am - horses fed, mucked out, hayed and watered, turned out

8:00am - start schooling horses and riding for clients

1:00pm - an hour for lunch

2:00pm - come out and start riding for clients again

5:00pm - horses fed, mucked out, hayed watered and brought in for the night

Horses were hunted and competed regularly too, so basically it was just go go go go go!!! We had about 15 new horses in a week, and sold about the same number on a 30 box yard... so he did rather well!

There were four of us working on the yard doing all the general yard duties, and hunting and competing the horses.

Owner of the business was responsible for finding horses and would take one of us with him to see them.

And one secretary who did all the paperwork etc.

Oh! We also had Jangles the spaniel who did a lot of brush stealing...
