Thanks everyone for your advice and support over Daisy's lameness so far. For those of you who asked to be kept informed, she is now almost sound again.

The vet wasn't able to come out today but we have spoken at length and he recommends bringing her back into work gradually once she is sound. He feels that she either needs to be worse so that things would show up when she is in the hospital or better in which case we can stop worrying.

I'm going to give her a few more days on box rest and then start walking exercise before reintroducing turnout and hopefully this time she'll stay sound.

Would you consider giving her a joint supplement or adding something like cider vinegar to her feeds at this point or would you wait and see?

Glad to hear Daisy seems to be better! I'm not sure what the "right" thing to do would be but I wanted to put mine on a "joint" supplement straight away when she went lame but decided to wait until it was diagnosed. That took three months and I wish I would have given her it sooner as I may have been able to help! She was heading for MRI anyway which would have diagnosed it (torn tendon) whether she was lame or not. And honestly if you find the right sort, apple cider vinegar is so cheap it's almost not worth not giving some.
Don't listen to me though, I've been "waiting and seeing" for three months and am SO sick of it so I'm bound to say go for it!
