as above really i have a fab dales pony who the breeder recognised and said 99.999999% thats her plus we traced her back through sales so we are doing dna tests as we would like to breed from her (the foal is for me so no unessersery breeding going on really want a youngster and to do it all from scratch using intellegent horsemanship blah blah blah etc) and wondered what cross breeds would be nice as a gereral allrounder/ hunter

perhaps a tb/ warmblood cross have seen an arab cross dales which was nice

so anyone out there got any opinions or some photos would be great

If you want lighter and a sport pony go for TB, Arab or Connemara - don't forget also the wonderful Shagya Arab (15.2hh-16hh) a little more bone than a Arabian.

Beamish Open Air Museum used to have a stud where they made nice CBxDales.

this is one I used to own, believed to be a Dales/TB cross

oh wow more pics pritty please (sloe gin or cherry brandy in exchange lol)

how about an anglo arab cross dales hmmmm

think crossing her with a warmblood would create a huge foal for her first time bless her but the thought has crossed my mind. perhaps a stallion of unusual colouring hmmmm the possibilitys come on peeps what can i create lol

there are pics of my mare on my profile in an album if you want to see what she is like. if i am being really critical of my lovely girl then i would say she is a bit upright in the shoulder anything anyone elese can see that a certain breed or sire might improve would really like peoples opinions

You can create whatever you like. Whether you should is a different matter.

Think carefully about what you would like to improve in your mare (shoulder, lighter frame, more athletic) and the kind of size you want. Personally I would stick with a pure bred stallion, it gives you more control over the outcome. So for something 14.2 upwards maybe an Arab, for the next size up perhaps a bigger framed TB.

Here are some photos of my first foal sire was Romero xxv who is 15.3h

At a year old (my visit with new owner)

She is around 14h at the moment and I don't expect her to go much over 15hh

Have gone bigger and lighter for second foal which is due in March.

Have you considered Groomsbridge's stallion May I?
