As the title really...

What were the symptoms, how was it diagnosed and how did the horse damage this area?

Any experiences will be very much appreciated right now

The most common damage would probably be rotation due to laminitis.

Othe damage includes fractures which are quiet common and usually heal after box rest.

Whats happened hun?

A friend of mine had a horse which fractured its pedal bone by standing on a stone in the field. He made a full recovery after box rest.

My friends horse fracture his pedal bone jumping a coffin badly. He came up lame almost immediately then within hours was unable to bear any weight. He was taken to the vet college, x rayed and had his foot wired. Box rested for 2 months or so and is now sound and back doing cross country.

My horse is currently suffering with a fracture to his pedal bone hes on small paddock rest and wearing bar shoe he did this the beginning of may and has improved but he was refferd to leahurst where they have given him another six weeks if no further improvements then its mri. Everyone who i have spoken to say pedal bones will heal just takes time..
