planning to speak to vet but interested in your experiences.my mare has a small tear on her ddft ,near fore.she is out in a stable size pen and has been for the last 3 weeks.there is no obvious swelling but still some warmth and still seems pottery even turning round.vet due to rescan in 4 weeks.i know they are slow to heal, but as the vets prognosis was quite positive im wondering if im expecting too much too soon.

I'm in almost exactly the same position myself, But unfortunately I dont have the answer for you!
My vet is back out at the end of this week so see how she's getting on but I've resigned myself to the fact that if I really want her to come completely sound its going to be a VERY long and slow process.
:(

It is a long process -my mare did hers and if you look at my previous posts I did go into a lot of detail regarding her treatment etc. Speak to your vet about using magnetic boots as they do help with circulation which in turn helps with the healing.
