Dammit! and a question

Jasmine is going

I so wanted to ride this little mare for a while! People came to see her today and really liked her. She'll have a good home, only 5 minutes away but i really like this mare

Anyway way i see it, I now have a problem.

I normally ride Blacky and have done for the past year and a bit. J, who is 12 started at Mossburn 5 months ago and Blacky is really the only horse suitable for her. Now i was hoping both me and J could ride Jasmine and we could take turns alternating between Blacky and Jasmine. Obviously this will now not happen.
I can ride Maddie and sometimes Jasper, and as Connie is lame and retiring and Sil is too small or strong for most people, these 2 and Blacky are the only rideable ones on a Sunday.
My problem is i really want to keep riding Blacky but i don't want to say to J, because it would mean she can't ride and i feel selfish when i could ride Maddie.
I don't want to stop riding Blacky though as we've been getting on really really well lately and she's working much better for me. She's lost a bit of weight too.

I'm all depressed now

What do i do?

You could say to J would you mind if I rode Blacky every once in a while ect ect as I'm sure J wouldn't mind. And Maddie looks lovely to ride. Really have no idea on this sort of thing but I'm sure you can work something out of you sit down and chat about it.

i know she wouldn't mind, i just feel bad saying to her as it means she can't ride. Specially when it's normally just us two riding on a Sunday.

Why do you not want to ride Maddie? Could J ride Maddie at all? Then you could ride Blacky alternate weeks.

I don't mind riding Maddie just kinda feels like i'm giving Blacky up at the minute.
Well she's not very confident and Maddie is 16hh so a bit tall for her. If J gets more confidence then i suppose she might try Maddie but i think that will take a while.

no, i'm only there on a Sunday. Got school and work other days.

Sorry, but I think it is a tad selfish so that only you can ride?
Why not swap on at the end? We all have to give up horses we like at times, move on and enjoy maddie, encourage J. It would be very unfair if she couldn't ride at all.
